Advisory services & courses
The ESD-team offers individual consultations as well as (continuing education) courses and workshops.
Consultations
How are chemistry, English studies, law or your subject linked to sustainable development?
In a personal conversation or workshop (for larger groups), we will work together to identify possible relations between your subject area and sustainable development. We do not start from standard connections, but look for specific links to the main topics of your courses.
How can I design my lesson or course in such a way that I can make sustainable development interesting and understandable for my students?
Do you have questions about didactic and methodological aspects? If so, our colleagues at LEAD (Learning and Development, Vice-Rectorate for Teaching) are available to provide answers and further information.
We would be happy to organise a workshop or coaching session for you on request and help you find answers to your questions in a personal consultation. Our services are primarily aimed at staff at the University of Bern. However, we are also happy to take on mandates for external institutions and individuals.
Please send appointment requests to: sustainability.cde@unibe.ch
Courses and workshops
Which teaching/learning scenarios are suitable for my lessons?
As lecturers, we can help our students to recognise, deepen and productively utilise the connections between their discipline and sustainable development. In the continuing education course "University Teaching for a Sustainable Future", you as a teacher will explore the intersections between your discipline and sustainable development and use this as a basis for developing innovative teaching/learning scenarios. An interdisciplinary group of participants offers an excellent opportunity for exchange and a wealth of innovative ideas.
Every year, we offer the continuing education course "University Teaching for a Sustainable Future" in collaboration with LEAD (Learning and Development, Vice-Rectorate for Teaching). Further information can be found here.
