Digital self-evaluation (University of Bern, internal)
Online self-evaluation using ILIAS
iLUB, the Support Center for ICT-Aided Teaching and Research of the University of Bern, offers lecturers at the University of Bern an online self-evaluation tool. The questions and feedback criteria for the self-evaluation can be prepared by the lecturers according to their own needs, making it a very versatile tool. Lecturers may, for example, allow students to evaluate their courses or their teaching style using their own criteria. They can also have students make a needs assessment, or they can prepare a decision-making basis for a new course. This self-evaluation can be carried out on ILIAS, the digital learning platform of the University of Bern (operated through iLUB).
Procedure:
To create a self-evaluation, open your corresponding course at ILIAS. In the course folder, you can select “self-evaluation” using the “Add new object” button. Then follow the instructions set by ILIAS. A simple guide for the settings of the self-evaluation is also available under the following link.
Evaluating the results:
As an administrator, you can view the results of all participants. The answers can also be exported from ILIAS in CSV format. You will receive a graphical evaluation of the results of the self-evaluation in bar charts and spider diagrams. ILIAS also gives you an automatic, brief summary of the feedback per question in words (e.g. “Your teaching style challenges us to learn”).
